Phrao Wittayakom School, Phrao, Chiang Mai
Phraowittayakom school is the government public school located in Chiang Mai province.It is the largest secondary school in Phrao district, home to 1,500 students, ages 13 to 18 years. Phraowittayakom are looking for Language Teaching Assistant(s) to work for education development in the language department. This school has been established for 43 years. Phrao district is well-known for the land of dharma because one of the most famous and revered monks in Thailand lived here during 1962 to 1985. The school's mission is to provide a quality education for the community and promote positive public conscious for the students in accordance with the government policy.
Phrao Wittayakom School are looking for 1 or 2 volunteers to stay for minimum of one term, 6 months, to a maximum of a year.
Volunteers will work Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm. They will assist instructors in language teaching classes by discussing and co-designing activities with the assigned instructor. Volunteers will participate and cooperate in different school activities, this may include extra-curricula. Lastly, the volunteers will be assigned to help in the school language clinic.
Food and Accomodation
Volunteers will be allocated money for food and accommodation. The volunteer will be self-catered and so will have to take care of their own food, however teachers on site and our staff at Move Lanna can help you with this and direct you towards the most delicious foods! Please be aware that you will be allocated a basic allowance, so if you decide to buy more expensive foods then you will have to fund this.
The school will provide rented accommodation, which is opposite the school and in new builds. This will be your private space, so make the most of the peace and quiet! The room will have a toilet, bed, closet and fridge. There will be wi-fi internet access here, and at the school.
Volunteers must have a good level and knowledge of the English language, both grammatical and conversational. College degrees and certificates are preferable, especially in the education field. Volunteers must be able to think up ideas by themselves, be creative, work alone and with others, and share a love for educating the next generation
